Do not follow Google Maps
Do yourself a favour while traveling throgh Ireland. Do not follow the route map provideto you by Google Maps. Its is a great service but despite having their European headquarters in Dublin, Google do not understand Irish roads. If you use their route finder it will take you in the shortist route but that will mean you will end up on some of our skinny L or Local roads which will make you trip a lot more chalenging. Try and stick to the M, N and R roads and avoid teh L roads where possible. Use google as a tool to know where you are but do not use it to tell you where to go.
Doolin is located on the Wild Atlantic Way; one hour North West of Shannon Airport beside the Cliffs of Moher the Burren and the Aran Islands. There is a motorway from Dublin that will get you to within 30 minutes of Doolin. Its called the M7.
