The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s are a Signature Discovery Point on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. The actual cliffs start just up the road fom our Sea View House in Doolin and slowly rise reaching 214m (702 feet) at their highest point at Knockardakin just north of O’Brien’s Tower before stretching south for nerarly five miles (8km) to Hags head.
Their sheer drop into the heaving Atlantic ocean is a well known haven for sea birds. You can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.
The Cliffs of Moher is home to a hugh number of nesting seabirds. Over 30,000 pairs of seabirds including a number of protected species nest at the Cliffs of Moher. These include the Razorbuill, Atlantic Puffin, Chough and Common Gull. The cliffs of moher is designated as a Refuge for Fauna since 1988 and as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) under the EU Birds Directive in 1989.

The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience:
The most popular to experience the Cliffs of Moher is to drive to The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience which is located almost midway along these spectacular cliffs about 10 minutes from Doolin.
The site is home to an environmentally friendly visitor centre set into the hillside. Over a million people visit the visitor centre so it can be busy. There is a charge to enter .
Cliffs Of Moher Coastal Walk:
One of the best ways to experience the Cliffs of Moher is to take the new Cliffs Of Moher Coastal Walk that goes from Sea View House along the coast and takes you up to the top of the Cliffs of Moher. The hike from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience takes just under two hours and there is no charge when you reach the Visitor Experience.
It possible to get a bus back to Sea View House from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience.

Cliffs Of Moher Cruise:
A number of passenger ferries from Doolin will take you on a cruise to the bottom of the Cliffs Of Moher. There are several cruises daily from March to October. The cruise can be combined with a morning day trip to the Aran Islands. Tickets can be bought on the day.
