Doolin is dotted with the remains of historical churches and castles including the ruined Doonmacfelim Castle. Although reduced to one story it still remains prominent landmark today.
The Burren starts down the road at Doolin Harbour. Locally there are a number or trails and cross country routes that can take you along the rugged Burren coastline or up to the mighty Cliffs of Moher.
The new Clare Coastal Walk Project which starts just up the road from Sea View House Bed and Breakfast links Doolin to Liscannor via the Cliffs Of Moher.
The Clare Coastal Walk Project is a spectacular coastal walk linking the villages of Doolin and Liscannor via the Cliffs of Moher. Once complete the walk will become part of the Burren Way long distance walking route.
Targeted at the more experienced walker, the upgraded walk will take approximately 12.7 kilometres of the existing "Burren Way" off tarred road and onto the scenic coastal path along by the iconic Cliffs Of Moher from Doolin to Hags head, and then on minor roads into the village of Liscannor.

The Burren Way is a 123 km walking trail located in the Burren Area. The trail passes right in front of Sea View House and brings you from Lahinch to Doolin. It then continues from Doolin on to Ballyvaughan to the north via the Green Road and Cahir Valley It then crosses the hearthland of the Burren through the villages of Carran and Corrofin on the Eastern side of the Burren. The trail is a mix of mainly Green Roads, pathway, old roadway and minor roads. Just south of Corrofin the route links with the Mid Clare Way.
